The Hits Just Keep On Coming…

Another week down, another series of eating adventures…
On Sunday, my whole family, my best friend, and her whole family went out (yes, in public!) to celebrate the multiple graduations in our lives this year. My eldest daughter graduated with her Associate’s, my middle daughter and her boyfriend both graduated high school, my godson graduated high school, and my goddaughter graduated 8th grade (if you believe that counts as a graduation). There were fourteen of us who went to eat at Fogo de Chão. For those of you who may not know, that’s a Brazilian steakhouse where they bring you meats on a skewer and give you a piece—nonstop! You can eat and eat and eat and eat. They also have an extensive salad bar and bring sides to the table, plus we got desert and drinks… all for the low, low price of about $800 bucks!
Again, there were fourteen of us, and everything was included. For three hours, we all got to taste multiple cuts of meat. It was great that the kids got a chance to taste all these different things they may otherwise never encounter. The best part is that we all celebrated together, and I’m pretty sure everyone had a great time. (See the meat choices and dessert choices below.)
My bestie stopped there last week sometime, and she told me they sell shawarma, which I’ve wanted to try for some time. We decided to go there yesterday, and I got a beef plate. It was fantastic!
The Fear It Induced
With all this eating this week, even with trying to focus on mindful eating, I know I ate way more than I should. Like, SO much food. I knew last night when I had all that shawarma that this morning was #WeighInWednesday, so I had a fair amount of trepidation when I stepped onto the scale this morning. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had still had a loss!
This keeps encouraging me to keep trying. Success breeds success, as they say. Coming into this new week, I have very few demands, so I will re-double my efforts to focus on mindful eating. I’m excited about my progress, even though I have so long still to go. I just know that this is the time. This is when I will succeed.
